People’s Politician Voting Rules:

1. People can take part only by accessing the following link:

People must be residents in the constituency of one of the two MP’s and vote only on the relevant MP’s site as indicated below:

Ann Widdecombe: Maidstone and The Weald

2. There will be 2 questions every week from 25 November 2009 to 18 December. Each question will have multiple answers for the voter to select their preferred choice. The results will be published on www.widdecombepp.com a week after the question was posed.

3. Any votes outside the announced voting interval will not count.

4. Constituents may vote only once in each one of the 8 questions (ie 2 questions in 4 weeks) per each MP as they wish.

5. This is not a competition and there will be no prize for anyone who has voted for most voted answers.

6. The BBC reserves the right to change, cancel or suspend this event at any time.

7. The BBC reserves the right to disqualify entries or suspend voting if it has reasonable grounds to suspect that fraudulent voting has occurred or if it considers there has been any attempt to rig the voting. The BBC has the right to substitute an alternative selection method at its absolute discretion. The maximum number of votes for a particular question made from one IP address is 1.

8. The BBC cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any on-line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any vote being lost or not properly registered or recorded.

9. Please note that employees of the BBC or its affiliates and their close relatives as well anyone who is directly connected in any way with the production of the programme or this event is not eligible to vote.

10. The outcome of the vote should not be interpreted as the BBC’s views on the matter that the relevant question refers to.

11. The voting in this programme accords with the BBC's Code of Conduct for Competitions and Voting, which can be found on BBC code of conduct for voting
