The BBC takes the protecting your personal data seriously and takes all reasonable steps to keep your data secure.

Information you provide while using this site will be collected and held by a third party web hosting company on behalf of the BBC. The information is collected and stored for the purposes of conducting the People's Politician experiment and making a television programme about it. The BBC will share your details and contribution with Tempero, moderators of The People's Politician websites.

Your details will not be passed to anyone else and Tempero and the BBC will only contact you with regard to your contribution and its use by the BBC. The BBC may wish to use your contribution in other BBC services, strictly in accordance with the BBC's Terms of Use (www.bbc.co.uk/terms).

The BBC may need to edit your contribution for technical or operational reasons and we cannot guarantee that your contribution will be shown. Please ensure that your contribution complies with the BBC's Terms of Use (www.bbc.co.uk/terms), and any local terms and House Rules.

The BBC will retain personal details and postings made to the site for the duration of the People's Politician experiment and 6 months after the broadcast of the programme before deleting them.
